Mash Up Sweater

Want to knit a sweater in a week? This fun experiment of knitting Rebel Worsted held double turned into a pattern for a sweater that's fun and funky, and best of all, fast to knit!

I'm not very good at following instructions!

The Mash Up Sweater began as an experiment to knit the Louisiana Sweater by Petite Knits with Rebel Worsted held double and 9mm needles. The issue was that I changed so much about the original pattern that I completely re-wrote it! The result is a top down raglan sweater, knitted in the round with German Short Rows.

The resulting fabric is very soft and stretchy, but also very light to wear and it breathes well. Very comfortable for wearing in the dye house - and other places!

I have written the pattern in three sizes (one smaller than mine and one larger), but it is very easy to adjust to your own preference. (Because of the stretch in the fabric I suggest knitting the size closest to your upper bust measurement).

I also discovered that it's a lot of fun to combine two colours to create a marle. Luckily Helen like to swatch and she tested out lots of different colour combinations for inspiration. The fun thing about marling is that you can go as wild or subtle as you like!
